Unreliable cable service

For the entire week, got cable signal outage mostly around evening / supper hrs (sometimes around lunch hrs), can't even watch a drama/news program continuously, with interruptions every 5 mins, very annoying, request technician to come over to check our cable box, they are never punctual. I am considering to disconnect this poor service. It is a total rip off for paying monthly to view blank screen. A company disregards customer satisfaction should be put out of business.

Over billed and rude customer service

My bill is $100 more than it should be. I called to have it corrected and the lady who answered the phone talked to me arrogantly like I was stupid. After repeated requests to speak to her supervisor she put me on hold for 15 minutes as she was "getting a manager for me to speak to." After the 15 minutes the same lady returned to the phone and refused to let me talk to a supervisor. Then she hung up on me. This lady is very rude, arrogant and ignorant. They want to rip people off so they make you wait an hour or two just to talk to an unhelpful and extremely ignorant individual. They want to frustrate you and waste your time so that you will just pay their bill that is over and above the amount you agreed to pay.

Poor and outdated equipment - they said it seemed to be performing normally but were never interested to send anyone out. The email quota messages were insane - those emails I swear took up big space in my in-box. 200 per month for cable and internet was just ridiculous so I took a look at Telus and WOW - faster internet (those speed numbers don't mean anything I'm convinced). For the cable TV, even my wife commented on the picture clarity / quality - just wow Telus !!

Bad service

Shaw Cable - Bad service
Shaw replaced a rotten underground cable between shaw box and my house and replaced it by a temporary line placed above ground. Shaw stated that a different department will visit and burry this line properly. Its been approx 2 months when this temporary line was laid and no one has visited our house to burry this line. This line is lying dangerously above ground and provides tripping hazard and could be damaged easily while mowing the grass or walking. We have approached Shaw several times on the burial of this line. No one at Shaw know when this line be hurried. We are with Shaw approx 25 years and have not experienced this bad service from Shaw.

Impossible to reach anyone by phone or Chat!

Appalling service! I tried 3 different phone numbers, of which 2 kept ringing busy and the third kept me on hold for 30 minutes without ever answering. The Chat was just as bad: no agent ever became available. So I have spent hours waiting with zero results. Dreadful.

I'm with shaw for 2 years and just renew for 2 years again. Finally moving to my new house and call shaw to move my services to a new location as contact offer that.. They told me that my new location dont have shaw services and they can't provide me with internet there. So now I have to cancel my services and pay 300$ for early cancellation. I told them on a phone if they can't provide services why I have to pay penalty? Answer is... you should look for a house with Shaw services not without now you are canceling and you have to pay. I'm really disappointed that they braking they own rules and I will fight with them.

Their support is pathetic - if you call typically - 30 to 60 minute wait. If you chat online be prepared to spend significantly longer, it took me 2 days as I kept getting timed out every 30 minutes. They will nickle and dime you to death. They signed me up with a Blue Sky bundle - they purposely limit the wifi signal on the router to force you to pay extra for the pods. In my case the signal reach's less than 20' - unless you live in a 20' X 20' box with no walls be prepared for the "add" on.

Terrible service

I have no wifi and no cable since Wed. Nov.4 Tech can;t come out unitl Friday, Nov.13. REALLY!!!!????? My kid is online and has to come to work with me to go to school. Same service issue 6 weeks ago and I had to wait 3 weeks for a tech.

Keep billing me higher

So frustrated with Shaw. I only sent my bill / cheque though the mail.

Why is my bill $780. ? No way I can afford that. I tried to phone them No brain.

My bill comes again , saying I didn't pay. This has been going on for one year.

I just gave up. Just pay what I want and suck it up Shaw

This happened to me as well after I down-graded my TV channels and Internet speed. Instead of reducing the cost on my account, they kept billing at the previous higher amounts PLUS adding on another 2 months 'future billing' with intermittent threats of 'cutting off service' if not paid.

Finally had to write to the CCTS (Commission for Complaints for Telecom/TV Services) to lodge complaint against Shaw's billing system and threats to disconnect. Seems no one at Shaw cares that CRTC rules won't allow disconnections for short non-payment issues. [see: https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/contact/ ] Going to be interesting if Shaw is successfully bought out by Rogers . .

. I'm afraid it might result in 'worse becomes worst' scenario.

It is difficult to contact shaw other than by phone or chat. I don't use Facebook or Twitter. I had gone looking for the Cable Dept. and an email address took me to you. Thanks to you the problem was solved in two days. Customer service rep. that my grandson talked to on Chat was good.

Horrible customer service

I had subscribed to Shaw Cable for TV, Internet and home telephone for almost 12 years. The internet was really bad and we kept complaining several times, but nothing much was done. Also Shaw invoices one month in advance. 3 years ago Telus had a promotion offer for TV and internet, that was the time I changed to Telus, but I still had the home telephone line with Shaw till June 25, 2020. This June I decided to move to Telus completely. My telephone line was transferred to TELUS on June 25, 2020. Shaw had not cancelled the service and continued charging me till August 2020. I also returned their equipment by Canada Post. I called them up several times and each time I was given assurance that they would mail me the cheque for the extra 2 months they charged my credit card till August, but till today there is no sign of the cheque for the refund. Very frustrating and disappointed with their service.
